Community Libraries sharing experiences

09/01/2019

It was good to receive a message from a group in Northamptonshire who are hoping to take over the management of their library.  They would like to visit us.  Kibworth Library has been run by a community management team for over two years.

So we are going to share our experiences, the good and the bad, to encourage our friends over the County border.

Community Managed Libraries really work.  In Leicestershire alone there is evidence from no less than thirty successful libraries.  More card-carrying members; more books issued; more in-house events;  more services.

All thanks to hardworking and committed volunteers, trained and supported by the County Libraries Service.
